A third type, type&nbsp;3 pans, are intended for use with supine patients. Grade&nbsp;A pans are designed to withstand heat sterilization at 134&nbsp;\u00b0C; grade&nbsp;B pans are capable of withstanding heat disinfection at 100&nbsp;\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>The pans specified in this standard are suitable for use on most types of mattress and bed, and are intended to fit into bed pan washer-disinfectors complying with BS&nbsp;2745<sup>2)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE&nbsp;1 Appendix A gives details of the information to be supplied by the purchaser to the manufacturer.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE&nbsp;2 The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are given on the inside back cover.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Specifies materials, construction and performance requirements for use by adults (type 1) and small children (type 2).
