Referenced equipment standards may give voltage level limitations.<\/p>\n<p>This document specifies requirements such as those concerning<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>protection during equipment storage and in the installation period,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>installation of generators and motors,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>installation of transformers,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>installation of switchgear and controlgear assemblies,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>installation of semiconductor converters and UPS,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>installation of secondary cells and batteries,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>installation of luminaires,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>installation of heating and cooking appliances,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>installation of trace and surface heating,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>installation of cables and wiring, both low-voltage and high-voltage cables,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>requirements in relation to earthing and bonding,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>lightning protection;,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>testing of completed installation, and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>documentation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This document does not apply to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>fixed equipment for medical purposes,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>electrical installations of tankers, and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>control of ignition sources other than those created by electrical equipment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE 1 For medical rooms, IEC 60364-7-710 provides specific requirements.
