This Standard specifies the extension and compensating cables to be used in combination with the thermocouples and the mineral insulated thermocouples (hereafter referred to as "thermocouples") specified in JIS C 1602 and JIS C J605.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

IEC 60584-3 : 2007 Thermocouples – Part 3 : Extension and compensating cables – Tolerances and identification system (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
