The method can only be used to compare the quality of soils between various areas.<\/p>\n<p>This method is applicable to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><label>\u2014<\/label>\n<p>soils from contaminated sites;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><label>\u2014<\/label>\n<p>amended soils;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><label>\u2014<\/label>\n<p>soils after remediation;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><label>\u2014<\/label>\n<p>soil with waste products (e.g <i>.<\/i>&nbsp;slurry, manure, sludge or composts).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Alternatively, the quality of soils can be assessed by determining the Omega-3 index of <i>Lactuca sativa<\/i> seedlings grown in these soils under controlled conditions (i.e. phytotronic chamber) and by comparing these values to those obtained from control soils (see <span class=\"xref\">Annex B<\/span>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Soil quality.
