Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

1.1<\/span> This practice provides tables of volume correction factors which may be used to convert volumes of asphalt measured at different temperatures to a volume at a standard base temperature. These tables are applicable to all types of asphalts except emulsified asphalts.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.2<\/span> This practice provides tables to convert asphalt volumes to 15\u00b0C [60\u00b0F] from volumes measured at any temperature from \u221225 to +275\u00b0C [0 to 500\u00b0F].<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.3<\/span> The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.<\/p>\n

\n

Note 1:<\/span> Correction factors in Table 1<\/span> and Table 2<\/span> are for use in place of correction factors provided in Guide D1250<\/span>, which do not address requirements for asphalt specifications.2<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n (A)<\/span> Use column A factors for asphalts with density at 15\u00b0C of 966 kg\/m3<\/sup> or higher.<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n (B)<\/span> Use column B factors for asphalts with density at 15\u00b0C of 850 to 965 kg\/m3<\/sup>.<\/span>\n <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n (A)<\/span> Use column A factors for asphalts with API gravity at [60\u00b0F] of 14.9\u00b0 or less with a specific gravity [60\/60\u00b0F] of 0.967 or higher.<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n (B)<\/span> Use column B factors for asphalts with API gravity at [60\u00b0F] from 15.0\u00b0 to 34.9\u00b0 or with a specific gravity [60\/60\u00b0F] from 0.850 to 0.966.<\/span>\n <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
