It is for solid materials with apparent thermal conductivities in the approximate range 0.02\u2009&lt;\u2009\u03bb<span style=\"font-style:italic;font-weight:normal\"><sub>a<\/sub><\/span>\u2009&lt;\u20092 W\/(m\u00b7K) over the approximate temperature range between 300\u2009K and 1100\u2009K.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left\">\n <span class=\"note\" style=\"font-variant:small-caps\">Note 1<\/span>\u2014<span class=\"note\">While the practice should also be applicable to determining the thermal conductivity of non-reactive materials, it has been found specifically useful in testing fire resistive materials that are both reactive and undergo significant dimensional changes during a high temperature exposure.<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"SectionLevel2\">\n<p class=\"subsec1\">1.2&nbsp;The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.
