Description

This Standard specifies a method of verification of testing machines for determining Vickers hardness in accordance with JIS Z 2244.

The verification may be used for periodic routine checking of the testing machine.

Although the International Standard limits the scope of application to the diagonal line length range 20 µm to 1.4 mm, this Standard does not specify the lower limit of the diagonal length.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 6507-2 : 2005 Metallic materials — Vickers hardness test — Part 2: Verification and calibration of testing machines (MOD)

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents in the corresponding International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified) and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
