Description

Specifies requirements for frictioned-surface transmission belting. Construction, dimensions and tolerances on length, width and thickness of belting across width, full thickness tensile strength, ply adhesion, electrical resistance and marking requirements are laid down.

Scope

This Standard specifies requirements for frictioned surface transmission belting, i.e. fabric belting possessing no distinct cover other than that imparted to the fabric by impregnation.
WARNING: BELTING MADE TO THIS STANDARD MAY NOT NECESSARILY BE ELECTRICALLY INSULATED AT ANY STAGE OF ITS LIFE AND SHALL NOT THEREFORE BE USED AS AN INSULATOR FOR ELECTRICAL WORK.
