For convenience, this may be<br \/>\nreferred to as Cu(En)<sub>2<\/sub> or CED.<\/p>\n<p>This method is the preferred procedure for pulps containing more<br \/>\nthan 4% lignin; however, many high yield pulps, at levels above<br \/>\n50%, contain sufficient lignin (in excess of 10%) to interfere with<br \/>\nthe test. The falling ball method may be used over the entire range<br \/>\nof bleached and unbleached pulps and is well suited to production<br \/>\ncontrol.
